About
Next Level Field Hockey
History
Coach Shellenberger formed Next Level Field Hockey, LLC in 2009. Through that business she has trained hundreds of athletes in lessons, clinics and camps, helping them get to the "Next Level". Many of Next Level's programs will continue to run through the business's newly formed non-profit status.
The addition of club play to Next Level Field Hockey was the dream of Director and Head Coach Jessica Shellenberger's for years. After recognizing that her daughter was ready for competitive play, the dream became a reality. Try-outs were held in August of 2021 and the rest is history. The goal of the club will be to "grow up" with our original group of athletes (U10s/12s), overseeing their development as hockey players and young women over the next 7-10 years.
Details About the Club
-
Try-outs are held annually in the Spring. Teams are selected for the following season, September-June.
-
Fall Season: We typically only have 10 practices, all on Sundays. Time is afternoon/evening. For competitions, in the past, we have attended one USTC Tournament and we also have sent teams to Shooting Star in Richmond.
-
Winter Season: We historically have trained from December to March (up to the NIT), Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6-8 pm at the Nook. All of our prep tournaments are at WC's facility (4-5 weekends), our 2025 qualifier for our 16s was in State College. We don't plan to go out of state for NITQs. We also have taken teams to Disney in January for the past 3 seasons.
-
Spring Season: We have started back training in April for the past 3 seasons. We train again two days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The past two years, our training time was 6-8 pm. We compete in JPOL, RCCs, Shooting Star events (Easter/Jamboree) and hopefully NCCs.
